Class 14 Graduates
A packed auditorium applauded the latest group of graduates from the Pre-Employment Program. It was all smiles for the group as they received their Firefighter I & II and Hazmat Ops certifications. Congratulations to all graduates. We wish you the very best in your future endeavors and in your chosen careers as Firefighters.

We’ve lost our stripes!
Walk through the front door of the School and the first thing you’ll notice is that we’ve lost our stripes. The main office, main floor hallways and the Auditorium are all undergoing a facelift and renovations will be completed in time for the arrival of Pre-Employment Class 15 in mid August.

Fireschool’s longest serving employee retires
Bob Gordon, Nova Scotia Firefighters School’s longstanding Maintenance Supervisor, has retired after 30 years of service with the School. Bob is a former military firefighter and was familiar with every aspect of the School’s physical plant operations. A celebration of Bob’s retirement is being planned for November. Mike Colley has been hired on full time to work with Moe Langille in the maintenance department.

Mobile Burn Trailer is on its way!
The mobile live fire training unit has been ordered from Pro-Safe and is expected to arrive in late November.

Class 14 raises over $10,000
Pre Employment Program Class 14 raised $10,239 for the Nova Scotia Firefighters Burn Treatment Society. The aim of this charitable organization is to raise money for the victims of burn injury. They are actively involved with the VG & IWK Hospitals and the Nova Scotia Burn Support Group. Congratulations Class 14 on your efforts!
